Safety Guidelines

KansasCOM strives to provide a campus environment that is safe and secure for all students, faculty, and staff. Campus safety and security is a community-wide effort and responsibility. Students’ awareness of all policies and procedures is considered essential to campus security.

Inclement weather

Inclement weather can impact our campus, especially during tornado season. All inclement weather announcements will be made using the KansasCOM Rave Mobile Safety application, which sends emails and optional texts in case of an emergency or school closing due to weather. All students, staff, and faculty are expected to follow protocol to comply with official inclement weather safety instructions during the event of an emergency.

Annual Campus Security Report

This annual report lists crimes and statistics for the campus and public areas contiguous to campus for the last three years, in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

The first campus security report that will be made available will include data from the 2022-2023 academic year.

Report an Incident

All faculty, staff, and students are asked to assist in making the KansasCOM campus a safe place. This requires all community members to be alert to suspicious situations or persons and reporting them as outlined below.

If you are a victim of, involved in, or observe any on-campus violation of the law such as assault, robbery, theft, overt sexual behavior, etc., do not take an unnecessary risk. Notify campus security as soon as possible.

KansasCOM is committed to taking incident reports seriously. Incident reports will be investigated and enforced fairly and thoroughly with respect to all parties involved.
