Cutting-Edge Facilities Designed for Your Education

At KansasCOM, we have incorporated the tenets of osteopathic medicine into our curriculum, while also considering the importance of innovation. We have transformed two historic downtown spaces into medical research facilities ready for collaboration, community building, and clinical training.

Simulation Center

Located in downtown Wichita, the Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Simulation Center is at the forefront of interprofessional education in the Midwest region. Our state-of-the-art, 22,000-square-foot, clinical learning center was meticulously planned to enhance the learning environment and needs of the modern-day student.

Non-Cadaveric Anatomy Lab

Our non-cadaveric anatomy lab is an asset to students participating in clinical research because it allows you to examine patient issues and treatment methods before working with live subjects. Developing solutions to common problems in a simulated setting will decrease the chances of errors in the field.

Tech-Based Modules Designed with Medical Intelligence 10 (MI10)

A core aspect of our curriculum is the inclusion of specialized modules created in partnership with MI10, an advisory group that focuses on artificial intelligence, data science, and educational strategies for health systems. These courses provide students with a multidisciplinary approach to research and will prepare graduates for success in clinical settings.

High-Tech Classroom Components

Technology plays a crucial role in the medical field and will continue to do so as it adapts and advances. Apart from our research facilities on the KansasCOM campus, you will also explore a range of technological devices in the classroom to enhance your learning experience. For example, students will receive extensive education in Point of Care or bedside ultrasound. Students will utilize ultrasound in anatomy lab, physical diagnosis, and osteopathic examination and treatment.

Virtual Augmented Reality

Virtual and augmented reality will provide students with immersive educational experiences to enhance learning and promote clinical application of biomedical science concepts. These devices improve the clinical training experience and provide the ability to conduct research in a safe setting. By developing skillsets in virtual reality, students effectively reduce the chances of making errors in the field.

Medical Intelligence 10 Modules

Gain hands-on training through curriculum infused with the latest medical technology as you prepare for work in the field. Our curriculum incorporates several modules designed in partnership with Medical Intelligence 10 (MI10) to introduce various technologies and practices that will support your career in medicine. These modules will provide a foundation for:

  • Emerging technologies
